This International Day is marked yearly to educate the public and raise global awareness of these awful crimes
Despite worldwide legislation to address crimes of human trafficking, this practice continues to be prevalent in societies all around the world as criminal enterprises profit from abusing and exploiting vulnerable people, some of whom may well be criminalised themselves as a result.
World Day against Trafficking in Persons seek to raise public and political awareness and the team at Zakon are keen to assist with this given our experience in investigating these offences and training agencies on how to deal with them. There is no country in the world which doesn't suffer from human trafficking (or modern slavery) and we urge all members of society to raise awareness amongst their professional and social acquaintances.
If you haven't heard of these terms (don't worry, many people haven't), they describe the exploitation of vulnerable people by way of trafficking, labour exploitation, slavery, servitude and sexual exploitation amongst others. If you do wish to learn more, please look at our Free resource library here FREE Resource Library where there are lots of legal and guidance documents as well as information booklets.

The Gangmaster Labour and Abuse Authority (GLAA) are a UK based enforcement agency with many police powers and they work in partnership to protect vulnerable and exploited workers. We have been privileged to work closely with them in recent years providing a range of training courses such as interviewing suspects of these crimes, you can see an article about this, along with links to the GLAA's page here Zakon GLAA Suspect Interview Training
