Following a number of requests to bring our popular CPD events to Wales, we will be running our "Interpreting Police Interviews Effectively" workshop on Thursday 30th of January, followed by our "Interpreting Advanced Police Interviews" workshop on Friday 31st January in Newport
These highly interactive and popular days are run by experienced Police Detectives with particular experience of working with interpreters. The trainers are practitioners with supporting legal and investigative degrees and Zakon has found itself at the forefront of police interpreter education since establishing three years ago.
Our Interpreting Police Interviews Effectively Workshop includes inputs on both witness and suspect interviews that culminates with an interactive practical exercise covering topical issues drawn from live cases involving interpreters.
Our Interpreting Advanced Interviews Workshop covers interpreting Vulnerable Witness Interviews (visually recorded), Custody Procedures/Risk Assessments, Achieving Best Evidence Questioning styles and the enhanced cognitive interview. This day is designed to provide interpreters with the knowledge and confidence to interpret serious, complex and major crime interviews with both witnesses and suspects, including those that are vulnerable.
Whilst intensive, our workshops are delivered in a relaxed environment with plenty of time built in to meet colleagues and build professional relationships.
Each workshop is priced at £120 and includes VAT, all materials during and following the event, food, refreshments, car parking and certificate of attendance. A substantial saving can be made by booking both together for £200.
The most cost effective way to book is directly with us by emailing bookings@zakon.co.uk to request a booking form, stating which day (or both) that you would like to attend.
If you would prefer to pay by credit card, you can book through Eventbrite for a small fee payable directly to them here:-
