Our Investigation Training for Schools day is going from strength to strength, and over the last few weeks we have visited primary schools in places such as Gateshead, Durham, Castleford, Welwyn Garden City, Hounslow and Wandsworth.
Whilst we have had a great time at each of the schools listed above, and the others that we have also visited, we would like to highlight St Teresa's Primary School in Colchester in particular.
Director of Training, Phil Parkinson, delivered our Investigation Training for Schools day on behalf of Zakon Training and the 28 children involved had a very enjoyable and informative day, packed full of lots of fun activities. Whilst that was not unusual, what was different to the normal day was that the audience consisted of Y5/6 children from several local schools.
Each child had been chosen due to an expressed enjoyment of science, and they were all very enthusiastic and willing learners during the day. The school has done a blog entry regarding the day, which can be seen here.
Phil says "considering that the children didn't really know each other, they worked really well together, and were a pleasure to teach".
Get in touch to find out what is so great about our day, and to see how we can help you and your school create extra enthusiasm for science, using forensic science as the vehicle. Our day is especially valuable for British Science Week (9th - 18th March 2018) so don't miss out on your chance to let us help show your pupils how science can be fun, whilst also teaching them about such things a British values and the role of the police.
