We are really pleased to have been invited by the Business Hive in Grimsby to present a master class on employment interviewing to give local businesses some hints and tips for effective interviewing.
Whilst companies often choose new staff through some kind of interview process, those conducting the interviews often do so with little or no training in how to conduct the process.
In a 2 hour session at the Business Hive on 26 May Phil Parkinson, our Director of Training, will bring to bear many years of interviewing experience and the skills he learned as an advanced level police interviewer to show local employers many of the techniques used by the police.
Whilst an employment interview is a very different interview scenario to a police interview with a witness or suspect, the basic principles of seeking the truth and testing an account are just the same. Many of the interviewing skills Phil developed whilst working for the police are transferable to the private sector, and he will show you how how to use tried and tested techniques to help you avoid choosing the wrong candidate, and to help you make the most of the time and expense that goes into preparing and running staff selection interviews.
