Following our recent workshop in Lincoln and numerous requests to run this in the South of the country, we ran another and had a great day with a diverse range of language professionals
We were thrilled to welcome many familiar faces, including some who initially attended our events ten years ago, and many new faces. We were very grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the workshop. Our delegates included experienced police interpreters, those looking into the field and some simply wanting to learn something new having heard about our workshops. Delegates professions included spoken language interpreters, BSL interpreters, Lipspeakers, and more!
The workshop combined two past workshops and was an intensive day with a combination of inputs, discussions and group exercises. The content covered interpreter specific guidance and legislation with witnesses and suspects of crime. We explored numerous issues including special measures, the PEACE framework, the cognitive interview and much more.
The venue provided outstanding catering, and the venue was ideally located in Farnborough being accessible from many areas.

As always, a whole host of resources and certificates to evidence CPD were sent following the event. A number of delegates were already planning further meets and CPD sessions utilising the resources.
We were very grateful to the Holiday Inn catering team and to Linda from Zakon for administerial support before and during the workshop.
Many delegates requested further training following the event, we are currently scoping another event on Saturday 12thJune 2027 at the same location.
