On Saturday 18th March Zakon Training delivered a full day of investigative interview training to members of the Yorkshire Interpreters Network.
The audience consisted of 30 BSL interpreters who had a wide range of experience; and the event was coordinated by Julie Fletcher (many thanks Julie).
The day started with inputs on how the interpreter can work with the police investigator to achieve best evidence from both witnesses and suspects. The afternoon comprised of a case study facilitated by Zakon Training staff, involving issues from real cases being discussed and thrashed out utilising the experience of the group.
Many of those present commented on how they had enjoyed the day but left totally drained by the sheer amount of knowledge they had acquired. Even more commented on how positive the day was and expressed a need for more training of this nature in the future. All in all a great day with a lot learning taking place.
Full certificates of CPD will be issued to those attending the day.
