We are in the process of organising two seminars on various aspects of police interviewing. The first is going to focus more on witnesses and is of particular relevance to Registered Intermediaries, whilst the second will be more suspect interviewing focussed, and ideal for interpreters or appropriate adults and the like.
The first seminar will be held on 15 September at the Holiday Inn just off Junction 40 of the M1 near Wakefield, with the second seminar due to be held in Lincoln in October; exact date and venue to be confirmed in the near future.
Although the first seminar is particularly focussed on the role of the Registered Intermediary within the police witness interview, and the second will be more directed towards the interpreter role in a suspect interview, these seminars will be of interest to anyone who wishes to know more about the interview techniques that are taught to the police in the UK.
This is an opportunity to hear from an advanced police interviewer and to learn a great deal about the techniques taught to UK police, that are arguably amongst the most effective police interview techniques in the world.
