This fun and interactive day introduces children to the role of the investigator and allows them to recognise and draw upon their own skills in order to solve a crime. This gives children a valuable insight into the work of the police and scenes of crime officers, and could potentially be used by schools to help satisfy OFSTED that they are providing high quality and impartial careers guidance.
Most children love the police and how they solve crime. On this day long course, one of our real life investigators will attend your school, scout group, youth club etc. and teach basic investigation skills. This will take children from recognising the functions and skills of an investigator right through to solving a grizzly crime! Children will get to examine a crime scene, take fingerprints, conduct searches and much more besides.
Most importantly, children will recognise the value of the skills that they already possess and how these can be taken into the world of investigation and work in general.
We suggest the course helps demonstrate effective leadership, described in the OFSTED inspectors handbook as encouraging activities where the "'school prepares pupils positively for life in modern Britain and promotes the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith".
